Alfred L. Harris, 64, of Axtell passed away Tuesday, June 26 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 11 am Friday, June 29 at Rosemound Cemetery with Monsignor Isidore Rozycki officiating. Alfred was born December 30, 1947, in San Bernardino, California. He served in the Army in Germany patrolling the East and West German boarders and then was deployed to Vietnam in the 1st Squadron 4th Calvary, earning; 5 Campaign Stars, a Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Alfred was a Master Carpenter who did all the wood updates and repairs to Cameron Park including Jacob's Ladder. Survivors include his mother, Audrey Harris of Farmington, NM; 5 Children; sister, Jody Willis of California; brothers, Elgie Harris of Flora Vista, NM and Steven L. Harris of New Braunfels; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.
