Alfred Lee Teal passed away Friday, January 15, 2021.
Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2021 at Bellmead Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Adams officiating.
Lee was born April 27, 1936 in Bakersfield, Texas and grew up in Iraan, Texas. He was a lover of football and played for the Braves team. After graduation he joined the Air Force where he served in Ammunition supply for 8 years. During that time he met the love of his life, Mary Ruth Gibson and they married on January 10, 1960 and recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. Lee and Mary, with their 3 girls, Janet, Robin and Traci moved to Waco in 1968, where he made a lifetime home. One of Lee's biggest loves was his Iraan Braves football team. He was known as the "Superfan". He attended as many Homecoming games as possible and would mentor players, bang the big drum during the game and even keep the cheerleaders spirit in check. Lee also liked being involved in his community, serving on boards, volunteering and recently even gave donuts to the police and fire departments. The one thing everyone knew and admired about Lee was his tenacity and a way of telling it to you straight. He held strong to the belief in being honest and treating people fairly, especially in business.
Lee is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughters, Robin Krizan and Traci Kerby; his grandchildren, Rick Carmody, Marla Bailey, Zachary Krizan, Cooper Krizan and Kevin Kerby; his great-grandchildren, Teagan Krizan and Freya Krizan.
