Alton Niswanger

Alton Niswanger, age 87, passed away Wednesday at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7th at 3:30 p.m. at Bellmead Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery. A visitation will be held before the service at 2:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Alton was born February 19, 1937 to Ola (Richardson) and Lee Niswanger and married Ann (Smith) Niswanger on January 12, 1958.

Alton retired from General Tire after 30 years of building tires and working in the shipping department. After retiring Alton began working with St. Catherine's/Providence Park where he worked in maintenance as well as transporting residents. He greatly enjoyed taking the residents on group outings, especially the trips to Winstar.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ann, and his son, Keith Niswanger and 2 Great-grandsons, Bryson Futch and Leeland Burk.

He is survived by his daughter, Deeleane Futch and husband, Larry. Grandchildren Johnathon and Shannon Futch, Justin Niswanger, Kerry Shaver, and Laci Burk. Great Grandchildren Skye Futch, Jordynn Stephens, Gabriella Niswanger, Blaze Niswanger, JoyAnna Futch, and Maverick Futch. Alton is also survived by his faithful companion, Dixie.

Alton loved spending time with his family, especially the times at Lake Mexia. He loved to hunt and fish, camping, Colorado hunting trips with his buddies, and to tinker with anything that needed to be fixed. If it was broke Alton could fix it, a trait he lovingly handed down to his two grandsons.
