Arbon Earl Mauk, 78, of Elm Mott, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Graveside services will be 11 am Saturday, April 14, at Rosemound Cemetery with Father Tom Rardin officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, April 13, at Bellmead Funeral Home. Earl was born December 27, 1933 in Franklin, Texas to Odie and Florine (Chaneyworth) Mauk. He married his high school sweetheart, Nell Wiley on June 2, 1956. He served 4 years in the Navy and retired from General Tire after 30 years of service. He retired again from the Waco Independent School District and spent the last few years as a school bus driver for Connally Independent School District. Earl's greatest pleasures in life were spending time with his family and friends, fishing, playing golf, and visiting with his buddies around the "Table of Knowledge" at Dee's Donuts in Elm Mott. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother-in-law, Alpha Wiley. Survivors include his wife of nearly 56 years, Elva Nell Mauk; his daughter, Jan Attaway and husband, David and family of Elm Mott; son, Jimmy Mauk and wife, Debbie of Crawford; beloved granddaughters, Andrea Mauk and Amanda Mauk; his sister, LaFern Leslie and husband, Al of Atlanta, GA; brother, Kenneth Mauk of Chalk Bluff; and very dear family friend, Darlene Wellings of Gloucester, England.
