Billy was born April 7, 1929 in Hubbard, TX to Onan and Emma Lee Evans. He was raised in Hubbard and graduated from Hubbard High School 1947. He joined the US Army in 1948 and served three years in San Antonio, TX until 1951. He married Ruby Nell Allcorn of Hubbard, TX in October 1951. Together they raised four children, Gene, Bobby, Jimmy, and Julie, all born in Waco.
After the military, Billy worked for TP&L, the US Civil Service at Connally AFB, and 26 years at Exporters & Traders Compress/Tejas Warehouse System. After he retired from Tejas he worked for himself repairing lawn equipment.
A lifelong servant of Jesus Christ, he served as a song leader, teacher, deacon, and elder at Northside Church of Christ in Bellmead.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Onan and Emma Lee, brothers, Maurice and Glenn, sisters Janie Ruth and Linda, and son Bobby.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Ruby, sister, Anita Carter, brother Tommy Evans and wife Teresa, son Gene Evans and wife Dana, son Jim Evans, daughter Julie Randolph, daughter-in-law Debbie Evans, grandchildren Jeremy Evans, Crystal Evans, Michelle Threadgill and husband Jackson, Brian Evans, Amanda Biskup and husband Tyler, Chase Randolph, great-grandchildren Mason Evans, Tarina Evans, Xaviar Juandiego, Eliana Juandiego, and great-great grandson Jaymeson Orton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the staff of the Atrium of Bellmead for the compassionate care provided to Billy over the last six years. Additionally thanks to the medical professionals and hospice nurses at BSCWH in Billy's last days.
