Bonnie Frank Pruitt, 93, of Waco passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 at a local nursing home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, February15 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson Rev. Shane Pruitt and Rev. Ivan Ker officiating. Burial will be at Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, February 14 at the funeral home. Bonnie was born December 4, 1916 in Colombus, Texas to Jim and Mae (Crawford) Johnson. She graduated from Academy High School and on August 18, 1942 she married Ace Davis Pruitt in Belton, Texas. She was a nurses aid at Hillcrest Hospital for 11 years and the Waco Veterans Administration Hospital for 18 years until retiring in 1984. After retiring she worked at Bonnie's Green House in Bellmead for several years. Bonnie held several offices and served on the Board of Directors at S.P.J.S.T Lodge #66 in Elm Mott. She was a past member of Cottonwood Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church and had attended Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in December, 1962 and a daughter Gladys Yates on May 29, 2004. Survivors include her daughters Sue Pauling and husband George of Waco, Ann Sanders and husband Randy of Speegleville and Christine Wigley and husband Wayne of Hewitt, her sons Jimmy Pruitt and wife Jane of Killeen, Joe Pruitt and wife Cory of China Spring, Richard Pruitt and wife Janice of Lorena, Robert Pruitt and wife Marci of Bellmead and Jerry Pruitt and wife Carol of Durango, son in law James Yates of Robinson, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thank you to Providence Hospice nurses Margie and Audie and the first floor Nurses and Staff at St. Catherine's for their care and support.
