Carlos Rivas, 67, of Waco, TX, passed away on September 19, 2024. Born on August 21, 1957, Carlos was known for his sense of humor and his ability to light up any room with laughter. An avid motorcyclist, he found joy in taking family and friends for rides on his cherished Harley. His love for the outdoors was paralleled by his passion for fishing, drawing and working on vehicles.
Carlos ran his own mechanic shop in Waco, dedicating his life to fixing anything with an engine, a testament to his dedication. His mechanical prowess extended beyond his professional life into his hobbies, where he also enjoyed repairing lawn equipment.
Carlos is survived by his mother, Maria Rivas: his long-time companion, Virginia Ramirez; his three children Cara Norris, Kayla “Rennie” Wornat, Jonathan Edwards Rivas and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Jimmy Rodriguez and wife Lupe, sisters Anita Robison and husband James, Lupe Ponce and husband Manuel, and Mary Bing. Carlos was preceded in death by his father Jessie Rivas, brother Joe Rivas; sister Lucy Rivas Lehman and former wife, Jana Rigdon.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 5th, 2024 at the Bellmead Funeral Home. Carlos’s light brought joy to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
