Catherine Marie Nicosia

Catherine Nicosia, 76, passed away on February 7, 2025 in Whitney, Texas. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, February 14, 2025 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be from 6-7:00 pm Thursday February 13, 2025 at Bellmead Funeral Home. 

Catherine loved her family very much. She was a Graduate of MCC Vocational Nursing Program and was a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked many years as an LVN. She worked as a Pediatric Nurse at Hillcrest Hospital for several years, then she went to Falls Community Hospital and Clinic. For a period of time she worked at Providence then retired from Hillcrest where she worked at the Clinic on McArthur Drive. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitney. Catherine loved her pets, especially Gidget. She is preceded in death by her husband Anthony "Tony" Nicosia, her parents, Paul and Carrie King, a child Stephen Haddock, brother Buster King, and sister Kitten King. Survivors include her children Candyce Haddock, Jennifer Haddock, and Vinny Nicosia. She had 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Sisters, Sue Truax, Linda Hobbs, Kay Groce and Tinker Green. A sister-in-law Debbie King. She also had her special caretakers Kay, Kerry, Kandie, and Kayla. Cathy lived the last eight years of her life with her sister Sandra Kay and husband Kerry Groce where they and there daughters Kandie and Kayla were her very special caregivers.
