Charles F. Solomon, Ph.D., age 85, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead with Father Albert Ruiz as celebrant. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, February 17th at the Bellmead Funeral Home.

Charles was born February 1, 1932 in Newark, New Jersey, the son of Milton C. and Anna Marie (Cosgrove) Solomon. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Alice Morris on February 5, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. Charles received his Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma State University and his Master's Degree and Ph.D. in Technical Education from Texas A & M University. Charles taught at TSTC for 33 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7022.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Solomon and Joseph Solomon; sister, Nancy Washington.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Solomon; daughters, Theresa Long and Elizabeth Doty and husband, Michael; sons, C. Michael Solomon and wife, Sherry and Thomas Solomon; sisters, Sister Charles Ann, O.P. and Genevieve Reeh; grandchildren, Josiah, Anna, Bretany, Elizabeth, Amanda, Samantha and Hope; great grandchildren, Austin, Alinda and Faith.
