Clova O. Joslin, 94, of Elm Mott, passed away Thursday, October 11 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10 am Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 9 pm Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Clova was born March 19, 1918, in Rockwood, Texas to Melvin and Cora Bryan. She graduated from Rockwood High School in 1936 and Brady Hospital School of Nursing, in Brady, Texas, in 1942. On November 1, 1943, she married Luther R. Joslin of Ozona, Texas at Goodfellow AFB and he preceded her in death in August 1997. Clova lived in Guam; Japan; Riverside, California; San Antonio; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Elm Mott and a few other places and worked as an RN for a few years until starting a family. In the 1970's and 1980's, after the children were old enough, she went back to work as Head RN at a Hillsboro, Texas nursing home. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Elm Mott and enjoyed working in her yard growing flowers and plants. Clova also enjoyed sewing, quilting and working crossword puzzles with Luther. She always had a pet, early in life it was dogs, and later in life cats. You could always find her feeding stray animals in the neighborhood. Clova had 10 brothers and sisters, of which only a Ray, Jane and Chester survive her. She is also survived by her sons, Don Joslin Sr. and his wife, Rochelle of Rapid City, SD, and Lee Joslin of Elm Mott; 2 grandchildren, Don Joslin Jr. and Ian Jay Joslin.
