David Clayton Gatlin Sr., 62, of Elm Mott, passed away Friday, Aug. 31 at his residence. Services will be 3 pm Tuesday, September 4 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Vernon Gatlin officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery. David affectingly known to those who knew and loved him as "Crazy David" or "Crazy PaPa" was born October 24, 1949 in Waco to Wallace and Virgie (Smith) Gatlin. He owned and operated "Quality Masonry" and was a brick layer in and around the Waco area all his life. His greatest passion was playing the Drums. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jimmy, Gene, Arlie, Harlie and Lloyd Gatlin; sister, Ola Mae Welsh; daughter, Baby Girl Gatlin; and his best friend, James Gamble. Survivors include his, children, Diane Dyess and husband Dempsey, Gayla Gatlin, David Gatlin Jr., Randy Gatlin and wife, Lisa, Lloyd Gatlin, Kristy White and husband Qunay, Donna Gatlin, Billy Gatlin and wife, Kara, Alicia Putman and husband, Ricky and Stephanie Ivy and husband, Tim; brother, Billy Gatlin; sister, Shirley Brunson and husband Donald; closest nephew, Larry Gatlin and wife, Evelyn; 23 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be, John Michael Villa, Kenneth Gatlin, Tony Dean Gatlin, Jerry Wayne Brunson, Joseph Ivy and Terrance Ratliff.
