David Lane Carver, went home Saturday, Dec. 17 after a year long illness, to play football with his son Jake to celebrate his 8th year in heaven. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Jason Carver officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday Dec. 19 at the funeral home. David was born March 3, 1953 in Temple, TX. to Oscar George and Clemmis (Gray) Carver. He was a member of Timbercrest Baptist Church, the Baylor Bear Foundation and the Eagle Scouts. David loved football, especially his Baylor Bears and raised 2 Eagle Scouts that played football. "SIC'EM BEARS". He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jake Carver who passed away December 18, 2003. Survivors include his wife Joy Carver of Waco; sons Matt Carver a Marine Vet currently attending UNT and his wife Lauren of Carrollton and Travis Carver currently attending McMurry University of Abilene; twin brother Dick Carver of Waco and brother Maurice Carver of Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Willie McCaig, Jimmy Sykora, Grant Carver, Floyd Richter, Bill Rose and Bill Robertson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Oscar Mayer Carver and Rufus Carver.
