The family will forever be grateful for the care and devotion from the wonderful staff during the last days they had with Delores. When asked to describe their mother in 3 words, her children painted a picture of Delores' legacy. Words such as stubborn, hard-working, determined and strong, spoke of the heart of a woman that loved fiercely, protected always and gave selflessly. Never one to want to be the center of attention, she would not sit still when work was to be done, or someone needed her help, and never expected praise for her efforts. No matter how tired Delores became, she would never complain or pass up what she saw as her responsibility. Delores' legacy of devotion and love knew no bounds or limits. Her vows to her husband were not suggestions but guidelines that led her through a long and loving marriage. Her devotion to her children and grandchildren held the same limitless love. A God-fearing woman, Delores is no longer bound by the chains of cancer. She has received her perfect heavenly body and is dancing along the golden streets of Heaven. We will miss her on Earth and can take comfort in the knowledge that she will be waiting for us at the gates when we arrive. The poet, Thomas Campbell wrote, "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." Delores may no longer be with us on Earth but she will never die. She will live in our hearts, minds and stories, always.
