Earl Clinton "Curly" Tabor, 87, of Waco, passed away Monday, March 25 at a local nursing home after a long battle with Parkinson's. Services will be 11 am Thursday, March 28 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Bell officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, March 27 at the funeral home. Curly was born May 21, 1925 in Anna, Texas to Henry and Florence (Stone) Tabor. He served in the Navy CB's during WWII and on August 3, 1943 he married Jessie Williams. He had been a Journeyman sheet metal worker in several states and went to work at General Tire & Rubber Co. He retired from there in the 1980's. and went back to school and earned an Associate Degree. In 1983 he went to work for Tabor & Associates where he remained until retiring in 2004. Curly was a lifetime member and teacher of the Church of Christ, last attending the Chilton Church of Christ. He was also very active with the Heart Of Texas Parkinson's and Caregivers. Curly was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; and 1 sister. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Jessie Tabor of Waco; his children, Barbara Tabor of Sequim, WA, Johnny Tabor and wife, Lyn of Hewitt, Clinton Tabor and wife, Jan of Speegleville and Tommy Tabor and wife, Sharon of Mansfield; his brother, James Tabor and wife, Carolyn of San Antonio; 5 grandchildren, Amy Bullock and husband, Kevin; Andrea Clendennen and husband, Daniel; Amanda Boettger and husband; Keith; Michael Tabor and Melissa Tabor; 5 great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
