Elvin Ray Lemley

Elvin Ray Lemley, 68, of Axtell, Texas passed away February 18, 2025 in Waco, Texas.

 Elvin was born on September 4, 1956, in San Angelo, Texas to JD and Mary (Ray) Lemley. Elvin attended La Vega High School- Class of 1975. He learned the value of hard work working side by side with his Dad at the family business- Lemley Concrete. His work ethic was unmatched, and he could build and repair anything.

Elvin was a fantastic cook and an avid outdoorsman. He passed his love of gardening, hunting and fishing on to his family. He was loved by everyone, and he will be sorely missed.

Elvin was preceded in death by his Parents: JD and Mary (Ray) Lemley and his Grandparents: E L and Myrle Mozelle (Jackson) Ray and Halley Lee and Beaulah Lemley.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Sherry K (Hasty) Lemley and his children Dorothy Yrios (Randy) and Brian Grimsley (Megan), and his pride and joy granddaughter Randi Nicole Yrios (Symon) and his beloved grand puppies Bellatirx Suzanne, Luke and Luna; his siblings: Rockey Lemley (Terry), Sherry Omberg (Mitch), and Carol Tink Lemley; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends.

A celebration of life will take place at 6 pm Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Bellmead Funeral Home. Troy Sandifer will be officiating.

Honorary pall bearers are Brian Grimsley, Randy Yrios, Jesse Andrews, Bradley and Derek Pierce, and Symon Pennington.
