Ernest Lee Turman, 79, of Elm Mott, Texas was called home by his Heavenly Father, January 6, 2021. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mart Cemetery in Mart, Texas. Visitation (Come and Go) will be from 6-8:00 pm Friday January 8, 2021 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Ernest was born to Edward Dewey Turman and Lottie Dewvall Turman on August 20, 1941 in Robertson County, Texas. Ernest graduated High School in Mart, Texas and attended Abilene Christian College. Ernest married the "Love of his life" Mary Lou Summers on June 7, 1966. They met and married at Mart Church of Christ. He enjoyed teaching teenage Sunday school for many years along with singing, fishing, gardening, playing with his grandchildren, he also loved his Dallas Cowboys. A memorable high-light for many was when he played Santa at grandma Vergie Summers in Mart and for the children at Nanny's Day Care in Elm Mott. He did this for almost 40 years. Ernest also was an assistant for Nanny (AKA) Mary Lou who would refer to him as "the older kid". Ernest worked 28 years with Darr Equipment Company in Waco, Texas. Ernest was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, two precious granddaughters, Karmin and Samantha Tergerson. Survivors included his loving wife Mary Lou of 54 years of Elm Mott , children Gail Tergerson of Moody, Darrell Turman, his wife Nicole and grandkids Laura, Londyn, and Colby of Robinson, and many other family and friends.
