David Frank Holley, age 91, passed away April 5, 2016. Graveside services with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Rosemound Cemetery with Rev. Terry Wilkerson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 8th at the funeral home.

Frank was born to William Howard Holley and Nona (Loy) Holley November 14, 1924. He served in the United States Marines during World War II, fighting in four Pacific battles and witnessed the historic flag raising at Iwo Jima. He married Gladys Courtney March 6, 1946 and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2000. Frank drove a truck for Herrin Transport in Waco for many years and loved to hunt and fish.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; a brother Mel Mai; special niece, Hilda Courtney.

Survivors include his sister, Laverne Hayes of Yuma, Az., nieces, Sandra Hayes of Yuma, Az., Pam Dusek and husband, Mike of Yuma, Az. and Linda Davis and husband Vernon of Waco; great nephews, Eric Case of Waco and Charles Courtney and wife, Karen of Gatesville; cousin, Joanne Lankford of Waco; nieces, Ruby, Lillie and Carolyn; and many great nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Frank, as he was known by many.
