Fredrick Samuel "Fritz" Glenn, 92, of Bellmead, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 15, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side. A private service will be held. Fritz was born February 2, 1920 in Millersburg, Ohio the first of 4 children, to Carl Robert and Relda June (Rutter) Glenn. He graduated high school with an opportunity to play college football, but decided to join the Army and serve his country during WWII. He was wounded on two occasions and honorably discharged. With numerous medals in hand, he set out for his life journeys. As a master Chef he worked in various cities across the U.S. until settling down in the Waco area in 1967. He became a cement contractor and taught many others the trade. Fritz had a hand in many projects around Waco including the Hilton Hotel, Richland Mall, Hwy 6 Post Office and M & M Mars just to name a few. After retirement he enjoyed traveling in his motor home to the beach and hitting flea markets across the country. Fritz loved his family, his friends and lived life to the fullest. Although a private man he was quick to make new friends, share his life stories and offer words of wisdom. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 1 sister; 1 son; and the love of his life for over 30 years, June Glenn. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kimmy Beaird and husband Cody; sons, Perry Glenn of Dallas; Donny Glenn of Maryland and Freddie Glenn of Illinois; brother, Don Glenn and wife, Brenda of Ohio; granddaughter, Jennifer Klidies and Zach Coleman; grandsons, Cody Beaird, Joseph Glenn and Johnny Hogan; great grandson, Ty James Red Elk aka "Indian Chief"; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful companion and little angel, Josie. The family would like to thank the Bellmead Fire Department, Hillcrest Hospice and the staff of Hillcrest 4 North, for their loving care and support and a special thank you to Muhamed Mboge for his care and friendship the last two years. Memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society or charity of your choice.
