Grady Ray Armstrong, 83, of Riesel, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19 at a local hospital. Services will be 2 pm Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kerry Groce officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 pm at Prairie Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Grady was born May 4, 1928, in Groesbeck to T.C. and Eula Mae (Thompson) Armstrong. He served in the Marine Corp and was an Iron worker most of his life. He was a member of the Prairie Hill Masonic Lodge, the Shiners and was a life time member of the Hewitt V.F.W. Grady was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Aline Baleman and Lois White; brother, Edwin Armstrong; and son, James Ray Armstrong. Survivors include his wife, Virgie V. Armstrong of Riesel; sons, Ed Wade and wife, Paula of Waco, Gary Wade and wife, Rachel of China Spring and Steve Wade and wife, Kay of Chalk Bluff; 10 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be, Gary Jackson, Tim Wade, Troy Wade, Ronnie Wiethorn, Michael Wiethorn, Ed Armstrong Jr., Dale Perkins and Jeffrey Jackson.
