Hellon Harp Mosley, 92, died peacefully in Fredericksburg, TX. on Tuesday, July 5. A Wacoan until the last month of her life, she will be buried in a graveside service on Thursday, July 7 at 1:00 at the Moore Cemetery at Chalk Bluff next to her husband of sixty six years Frank E. Mosley. Known to her family as Nanny, she kept her wit and good humor to the end of her life. Family was her consuming passion. She was an avid reader, a ceramicist, a painter, a quilter and a gardener. Her sons remember how she at four feet, eight inches, floored a horse that bit her; how she made their shirts throughout their school days; how she baked incredible lemon meringue pies, and how she guarded them as they swam in the family pool, even though she couldn't swim a stroke. Her grandchildren remember the costumes she created for them when they were little, doll clothes she made for them as they aged, and special dresses she sewed for their most important occasions as teens. Her great grandchildren cherish the memories of checkers lessons, of her dancing at her 90th birthday, and of how she remembered every one of their birthdays. For her entire family, she was a soft place on which to land. She is survived by two sons: Robert Mosley and his wife Nan of Fredericksburg, and Joe Mosley and his wife Doris of Elm Mott. Additionally, four grandchildren: Heath Mosley of West, Robyn Smith of Waco, Scott Mosley of Madison, WI., and Elizabeth Harris of Fredericksburg. Her great grandchildren include Chance Mosley of West, Abigail Trompler of Waco, Owen and Jude Mosley of Madison, WI., and Taylor and Reece Harris of Fredericksburg. She is survived by loving nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, all of whom have encouraged and nourished her as she aged. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the individual's favorite charity.
