Henry Chudej, 80, of Lacy-Lakeview passed away Thursday, November 27, at a local nursing home. Mass of Christian Burial will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 1, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead with Father Timothy Vaverek as Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Rosary will be recited at 6 p. m. Sunday, November 30 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Henry was born July 12, 1928 in Ross, TX to Ambro and Frances (Kallus) Chudej who both preceded him in death. He attended school at Abbott and West High School and enlisted in the Army and trained at Ft. Hood in the 2nd Armored Division as a tank driver. He served in Germany and Australia and was discharged in December of 1952. He went to work at L.L. Sam's & Sons Church Furniture Co. for 12 years and then retired from Joe Matustik's General Contracting Co. Henry was a charter member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Bellmead and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7202, the Waco American Legion Post # 121 and the West V.F.W. post #4819. He volunteered at Geneva Hall from 1962 untill 1987. Survivors include his Brother, Tony A. Chudej and wife Mary Jane, Sister Helen Skerik and Numerous nieces and nephews Pallbearers will be, Anthony Chudej, Steven Chudej , Barry Brott, Jon Gersbach, Matt Wolske, Cory Vahue, Jason Prellop and Scooter Walker.
