Herman J. Buro Jr., 91, of Bellmead, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at his residence. Services will be 2 pm Monday, Jan. 12 at Sparks Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Wimberley and Rev. Jimmy Sansom officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Sunday, Jan. 11 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Herman was born December 27, 1923 in Hallsburg, Texas to Herman Sr. and Hulda (Kuehn) Buro. He served in the Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. On July 2, 1947 he married Ruth Bertha Lemke in Marlin, Texas. Herman was a member of Sparks Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as Church Treasurer and past President of the Administrative Council. He retired from the U.S. Postal service and after retirement he ranched in the Marlin area. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth on December 29, 2008; his sister, Hertha Kattner; brothers, Arthur Buro and Leonard Buro; and his son-in-law, Paul Jackson. Survivors include his daughters, Elaine Jackson of Georgetown and Judy Pursche of Robinson; sons, Dale Buro and wife, Kathy of Bastrop and Clyde Buro and wife Angie of Waco; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be, Brian Pursche, George "Billy" Jackson, Nolan Buro, Jeffrey Buro, Adam Buro, Tom Oren, Matthew McKinley and Earl Buro.
