Hester Marie Evans, 90, of Bellmead, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9 at a local nursing home. Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, Feb. 12 at Bellmead Funeral Home with Rev. James Adams officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday Feb. 11 at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Evans was born September 17, 1920 in Mart, Texas to Floyd Elmer and Lillie Josephine (Williams) Nixon. She was a member of Bellmead Calvery Baptist Church, a long time church secretary at Oaklawn Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Evans also enjoyed over 40 years of self employment with her Tax Service Business. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wavy Franklin Evans in April 1998; 4 sisters Edna Dalrymple, Dorothy Patrick, Ruth Sauls and Elvon Nixon; 1 brother Marvin Nixon and brother in law Earnest Dalrymple. Survivors include her sons Dewayne Evans of Dripping Springs and Donald Evans and wife Debbie of McGregor; brother Robert Nixon and wife Juanita of Waco; sister in law Flo Nixon of Waco; grandchildren Kelly Freeman, Misti Bruce and husband Josh, Cheryl Kendall and husband Tom and James Wollard Jr. and wife Kim; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Wollard Jr., Josh Bruce, Ron Moore, Larry Moore, Mack Patrick and Harold Patrick. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vance Stone, Lon Stone, Bob Shaw and Lee Butler.
