Irene Henrdix, 92 of Waco, passed away Friday April 1, at a St. Catherine's Hospice Center. Graveside services will be 3:30 pm Monday, April 4 at Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff with Chaplain Merry Wilburn and Rev. Ed Warrick officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm Sunday, April 3 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Mrs. Hendrix was born July 27, 1918 in Patrick to Nay and Ethel (Wright) Garrett. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of Chalk Bluff Baptist Church. Mrs. Hendrix was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Lewis O. Hendrix, 3 sister Lillie McGown, Vada Hopkins and Ruth Henson; and great granddaughter Rebecca Rifenberg. Survivors include her daughters B.J. "Betty" Burleson of Gholson and Patsy Stauffer and husband Jim of Florida; grandaughters Terise Chasteen Rhodes and husband James of Tennessee and Robyn Burleson Hollas and husband Tyson of Flower Mound; grandsons Chris Chasteen and wife Anne of Florida, Joe D. Burleson, Jr and wife Felicia of Wills Point, Ronnie Burleson and wife Carol of Gholson and Kenny and Kevin Staffer; 17 great grandchildren; twin great great granddaughters and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Terry Standford, Andy Moore, Eddie Wilson, Steve Hill, Brad Jones and Johnny Hendrix; Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe D. Burleson Jr., Ronald Burleson, Tyson Hollas, Christopher Chasteen, Jimmy Rhodes, Kenny Stauffer and Kevin Stauffer. Family would like to express a special thank you to Dion Jackson, Merry Wilburn, Beverley Burch, Kathy Reel, Benny Urban, Ashley Brooks, Tiffany Tisue, Nicole Butler, Sherrell Singleton and all the people with Providence St. Catherine Hospice Center.
