Irene Ramos Rivera Padilla, 71 of Bellmead passed away Sunday Nov. 20 at a local hospital. Services will be 11 am Saturday Nov. 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Robert Herald officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be 7 pm Friday Nov. 25 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Irene was born November 3, 1940 in Lubbock, Texas to Nicolas and Jane (Lozano) Ramos. She graduated from LaVega High School in 1960 and won the Speech and Homemaking awards. She was President of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW post #2148, was a member of the Waco Missions and St. Joseph Catholic Church and was very active in many community works. She married Ernest Padilla in November 2002. Irene was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Daniel Ramos in 2009. Survivors include her husband Ernest Padilla; daughter Angela Rivera; son Albert Rivera Jr.; and sisters Jane Ramos all of Bellmead, Carmen Hoffmann of Heath, Bettie Raye of Ovilla and Anna Garey of Frisco; brothers Nick Ramos of Dallas, Johnny Ramos of Waco and Albert Sais of Austin; grandchildren Alliah and Jordan Rivera; and numerous nieces and nephews.
