Jack LaDon Nichols, Sr., 78, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 in Waco, TX. Visitation will be 5 – 7pm Monday, December 23,2024 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Graveside service is 10am Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Rosemound Cemetery.
Jack was born on November 24, 1946 in Waco, TX to John Elic Nichols and Odessa Lee Casey Nichols. After High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served for two years based in Great Falls, Montana before moving back to Waco and starting his family.
On April 4, 1964, Jack married the love of his life who he cherished and loved everyday of his life. He loved life and spending time with his family. He was proud of his children and grandchildren. Jack especially loved going to all of his grandchilren's sporting events, playing his guitar and singing. He would invite anybody inside to hear him sing. Jack loved portraying “Santa Claus” for many years at Christmas time.
Jack was a self employed professional roofer, carpenter and a jack of all trades. He made many friends through his business ventures.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Elic Nichols and Odessa Campbell.
Jack is survived by his wife Darlene Nichols; sons, Jack LaDon Nichols, Jr. & wife Kim, Darrell Lee Nichols & wife Wendy; daughter, Karen Sue Jeffries & husband Maurice; brother, John Elic Nichols, Jr.; sisters, Ruth Ann Vickers, Janice Sarah Lee Fouts; grandchildren, Darrell Dean Nichols, David Nichols,
Madison Nichols, Kayla Nichols, Keith Nichols, Dylan Nichols, Krystal Austin, Brittany Chapman, Buddie Chapman and Reese Jeffries; great grandchildren, Andrew, Jeremiah, Everleigh, Leilah, Aiden, Claire, Easton and Addison.
