Command Sgt. Major Jack W. Duncan Jr.,USAF Ret. 82 of McGregor, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015. Services will be 10 am Saturday, August 8, at Bellmead funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Axtell Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, August 7, at the funeral home. Jack was born October 17, 1932 in Owensburg, Indiana to Jack W. Sr. and Ethel (Booker) Duncan. He served 21 years in the Army and Air Force during Korean and Vietnam and 15 years in the Texas State Guard. Jack worked for Behrens Drugs and was a member of Eagle Spring Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his first wife, Helen on November 19, 1999; sons, Randy and Richard; granddaughter, Mylinda; and step-mother, Pansy Hawef. Survivors include his wife of one year, Ruth (Swetnam) Duncan of McGregor; son, Lynn Duncan and wife, Dawn; step-son, Mike S. Swetnam and wife, Imelda; grandchildren, Jennifer and Charles Duncan; step-grandson, Jon Michael Swetnam; great-grandchildren, Bentley and Carley Grace; extended family, Lawrence and Lisa Akard and Sandi Swetnam; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
