James "Pink" Ervin Bumguardner, Jr.

James Ervin Bumguardner Jr. (Pink), 78, of Bellmead, Tx., passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, after a long battle of cancer at his residence surrounded by family. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am, Saturday March 15, 2025 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church (Family of Faith Worship Center) 4112 Memorial Dr. Waco, Tx. 76711,  with Pastor Debbie Rarick officiating.

James was born March 26, 1946, in Brady, Tx. to James Ervin Bumguardner Sr. and Emmagene Norman Bumguardner. He was the eldest of 2 sons. James was an amazing mechanic and worked for the City of Bellmead for over 30 years. Before that he was owner/operator of the Joy Drive Inn and several other movie theaters around Waco. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #1329 since 1981. James was well known and loved throughout the community. After retirement he had his own shop “Pinks Lawn Mower Repair Shop” because his love of being a mechanic never stopped. In 1991, James met and later married the love of his life Diana Lynn Davis Bumguardner, they were together for 33 years.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Samuel William Bumguardner  (Bo); and his son James Ervin Bumguardner III (Tiger).

“Pink” is survived by his wife Diana Bumguardner; his sons John Ray Bumguardner and Michael Lee Bumguardner & wife Pamela; his daughters Kari Ann Lara, Valerie Orum Anderson, and Christi Orum Miller & husband Tommy. His bonus children Skip Hanstein & wife Brenda and Nancy Wagner & husband Leo, an abundance of grand and great grandchildren; his mother in law Juanita Davis; his sister in law Wendy Davis and his special fur babies, Gypsy, JuJu, Opal, Harley, Cali and Coal, who will all miss him dearly.

The family ask that if you want to donate in his name that you do so to any cancer organization of your choice.
