James Roy Marecle, 75, of Lacy Lakeview passed away Tuesday, January 28 at his residence. Graveside services will be 11 am Friday, February 1 at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 7 to 9 pm Thursday, January 31 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Roy was born June 2, 1937 in Falls County, Texas to Rev. James E. and Pauline (Rogas) Marecle. They moved to Lakeview in September 1950 and he graduated from Connally High School in 1956, where he lettered in football, baseball and track. Roy was an Honorary member of the Lakeview P. T. A., was very active in Little League Baseball and was President of Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department for about 15 years. He belonged to the Connally Free Will Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. His grandsons were the joy of his life. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Jo Ann Marecle. Survivors include his children, Connie McDonald and husband, Randy of Bastrop, David Marecle and wife, Veronica of Red Oak and Jerry Marecle and wife, Candi of Riesel; grandsons, Neal McDonald, Blake McDonald, Wesley Marecle, Ben Marecle, Kyle Marecle, T.J. McDonald, Wil Marecle and Ty Marecle; brother, Wayne Marecle and wife, Shirley; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be, Neal McDonald, Blake McDonald, Wesley Marecle, Ben Marecle, Klye Marecle, T. J. McDonald, Keith Knobloch and Kregg Yount. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wil Marecle and Ty Marecle. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
