Jane Ramos, 69, of Bellmead passed away Thursday, December 13, at a local hospital. Services will be 11 am Monday, December 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Tim Vaverek officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be 7 pm Sunday, December 16, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Jane was born January 26, 1943 in Elm Mott, Texas to Jane (Lozano) and Nicolas Ramos. She graduated from La Vega High School in 1961 and Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos in 1970. In 1974 Jane received her Masters from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in Elementary Education with a Bilingual Certification. She taught Pre-K at various elementary schools in the Dallas Independent School District for 32 years. After retiring she moved to Waco where she was involved in various local community events. She was a member of the VFW post #2148, a member of the Waco Missions, and also an election bilingual voting representative for McLennan County. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Daniel Ramos in 2009; and a sister, Irene Ramos Padilla in 2011. Survivors include her sisters, Carmen Hoffmann and husband, Gilbert of Heath, Bettie Raye and husband Paul of Ovilla, and Anna Garey and husband, Jerry of Frisco; brothers, Nick Ramos and wife, Karen of Dallas, Johnny Ramos and wife, Carolina of Waco, and Albert Sais and wife, Lori of Bastrop. She also leaves behind many other family members, friends, and loved ones. She chose the following Pallbearers, because she said that in her eyes these men were Kind, Smart, and Important to her: Tim Billingham, John Michael Eggers, Philip Pesina, Raul Pesina, John Ramos, Michael Sais, Zeke Sanchez and Daniel Ramos Jr. The family would like to express a special thank you to Bellmead Kidney Center, Providence Hospital 3rd floor nursing staff and Providence Hospice for their loving care and support.
