Janice Pearl Johnson Unger, 69, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Unger; her mother, Evelyn Swanson Johnson; her father, Clifford Wylie Johnson; and her brothers, Dewayne Doyle Johnson, Carl Fritz Johnson, Freddie Dean Johnson, and sister, Betty Jo Johnson.
Janice is survived by her brother, Larry Johnson; her three children, Lesley VanCleave, Charles VanCleave Jr., and Whitney VanCleave; her daughter-in-law, Kristen VanCleave; her son-in-law, Mike Hajek; two grandsons, Heath Nash and Bradley Davenport; four granddaughters, Sage Mitchell, Hilary Pressley, Kendra Knight, and Emily VanCleave; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy.
Born on January 16, 1955, in Waco, Texas, Janice graduated from Connally High School in 1973 and later earned her degree from Texas State Technical Institute. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to food service, working at Baylor University, Connally Schools, and Brookhaven Youth Ranch.
Janice was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a deep love for family. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, celebrating milestones and achievements, especially those of her grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her kind heart and the joy she brought to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
