Jason Wayne Hessel was a kind, joyful and sweet son, brother and friend. He went to be with Jesus peacefully in his sleep on January 24, 2021 at age 37.
Jason
was born to Kathy Slavik & Ricky Hessel on September 12, 1983. After
graduating from Axtell high school, Jason chased his dreams and served in the
Navy for 4 years. Jason spent the majority of his time in the military living
in Hawaii where he became very active in his church, was baptized &
accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & savior.
Jason
will always be remembered for his kindness, humor & that big infectious
smile. Jason always found joy no matter what.
Jason
was preceded in death by his grandparents Denmon Moody Jr, wife Mary Moody,
Vernon Hessel, wife Janelle Hessel, Aunt Gwen Hessel, Uncle Gary Hessel, and
his father Ricky Hessel.
Jason
is survived by his mother Kathy Slavik, step father Chris Slavik, sister
Brittany Mathis, her husband Bret Mathis, his two nieces Brazos, Briar &
multiple aunts, uncles & cousins who love him dearly.
Jason's
family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Lakeshore Village
Healthcare Center & Gentle Transitions Hospice for the great care they
provided for Jason.
A grave
side funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday January 28, 2021 at
Axtell Cemetery in Axtell, Texas. Visitation (Come and Go) will be from 6-8:00
pm Wednesday January 27, 2021 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel.
