Jeffrey Wayne Gammel, 38, of Waco passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Connell officiating. Burial service to follow at Riesel Cemetery in Riesel, Texas. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, October 10 at the funeral home. Jeff was born December 16, 1973 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Texas. He attended Waco Christian School for most of his educational career. After school, he served his community for over a decade as a dispatcher for the Beverly Hills Police Department and was recently employed at the Salvation Army as a House Monitor. In his spare time he loved to cook, make up new recipes, read any book available, and considered music his preferred form of therapy. He loved his wife, son, sisters, family, and friends, and would do anything for anyone. He was a big fan of and close friends with Downsiid and showed his devotion in a tattoo for all to see. The world has lost a treasure. His was a light that never fully got to shine and was snuffed out too early. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, August and Amanda Poldrack; paternal grandparents James and Ethel Gammel; and uncle Darryl Wayne Poldrack. He is survived by his wife, Misty, and son, Wesley Sawyer, both of Bellmead; his mother, Ann Woodard of Mart; his father Jim Gammel and wife, Donna of McGregor; his sisters Samantha Gammel of Galveston and Sarah Gammel and her boyfriend Glenn Wheeler, both of Waco; his step sisters Dusty Wade of Tyler and Sandy Wachsmann of Bosqueville. He also leaves behind family in McGregor, Valley Mills, and the Houston area, as well as many friends in Waco, across the country, and over the ocean. Pallbearers are Charles Bourassa, Keith Gammel, Christian Garifalos and all cousins; Charles Brown, Trey Mirick, Blake Coulter, Rick Fisher, and Jim Peters. A college fund is being set up for his son, Wesley, although details are not available at this time.
