Jimmie Ray Anderson, age 87, passed away June 3, 2016. A funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester Adams officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will follow at Axtell Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the funeral home.Jimmie was born November 20, 1928 in Wellington, Texas to Mark and Grace Anderson. The family lived in Richland, Texas, then moved to Bellmead. He worked for General Tire and Rubber Company for over 30 years. After retirement he was custodian of Bellmead First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a charter member. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Bellmead Masonic Lodge #1329, A.F. & A. M. for over sixty years, earning the Golden Trowel Award. He served as Past Master and was a member of the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed teaching Esoteric Masonry to anyone who wanted to learn for over thirty years. He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Lillian Anderson in 2004 and granddaughter, Shannon Duran. Survivors include his second wife Dorothy Jean Anderson, her son Michael Wood and the Wood family; his son, Michael Anderson and wife, Gera of Austin ; brother, Mark Anderson and wife, Myrla of Elm Mott; sister, Berta Poehls of Elm Mott; granddaughter, Lynette Kelly; great granddaughter, Kristyn Duran; and numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.Please sign the online guestbook at www.bellmeadfuneralhome.com
