Mr. Rape spent his childhood in the areas of Blum, Aquilla, Hillsboro and Abbott. His father and brothers worked as a farming family. He and his brothers were childhood friends with Willie Nelson. Mr. Rape survived polio as an adolescent and was treated at the old Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Later, Jimmie met his spouse Ethel Elizabeth Davis while living in the Wichita Falls, Texas area. They were married for fifty-one years prior to Ethel's passing. Jimmie moved to the Los Angeles California area during the late 1950's and that is where his daughter was born. Later, they moved to Ft. Worth, Texas and lived in that area for twenty-two years prior to moving to Waco. Jimmie worked as a long-haul truck driver for many years and retired in 1994.
Jimmie was a kind-hearted, patient and loving family man, often helping family and friends who were in need. Jimmie was an excellent mechanic; he loved to use his hands and create something out of nothing in his shop; his resourcefulness was a God-given talent that he always showed and taught to his family and friends. He loved to fish, enjoyed sports, and always loved to be outdoors. He was a lover of life and enjoyed going dancing, even in his later years of life. He was an avid country music fan and especially liked the "Old Time" country music. In his time at Christian Care Community, the staff appreciated his kindness, gratitude and loving spirit. Jimmie left an incredible legacy to many people and was an excellent model and servant of a man. He will be missed but celebrated as he enjoys his time with our ultimate destination, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and family and friends in Christ.
