Jimmy Ray Fields, 90 of Belton, Texas passed away on February 19, 2023.
Jimmy was born to Richard and Dorothy Fields on July 6, 1932. Jimmy shared his parents love with his brother, Joe Fields and stepsister Dorothy Fields. Jimmy was a decorated Army Ranger who served in numerous military conflicts. After leaving the military, Jimmy became a truck driver and retired from HEB after 32 years of service. Jimmy was a member of Lake View Baptist Church in Temple, Texas.
Jimmy served in the United States Army's 170th Ranger Battalion Search and Rescue. During his time of Service, Jimmy received the Combat Infantry Badge, Unit Commendation Medal, Bronze Star, Two Purple Hearts, Korean Service Medal, Korean Battle Medal with five stars and an Expert Marksman Badge
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Ruth Haines-Fields, two daughters Brenda Godby and Cynthia Broseh, and two stepchildren, David Haines and Dianna Sargent. Jimmy also had 7 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Fields, brother Joe Fields, stepsister, Dorothy Fields and grandson, Jimmy Craig Godby.
Visitation and a time of remembrance are scheduled to begin at 10:00 until 11:00 am on Wednesday February 22, 2023. Services will be held in the mausoleum at Waco Memorial Park following a time of visitation.
