John Allen Sykora, 46, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in San Antonio, TX., at the Brooks Army Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom McCollister of Timber Crest Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Moore Cemetery at Chalk Bluff. Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. February 28 at the funeral home. John was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia on March 23, 1963. He graduated from Connally High School in 1982. He played football and was on the weight lifting team. He and his father had Sykora's Heavy Equipment Service in East TX for 8 years. John then moved to Waco and worked for the Holt Cat. Company for 14 years, medically retiring in 2009. He loved to fish and hunt with his sons and ride his Harley Motorcycle with his friends. John loved and pampered his four minature Schnauzers. John is survived by his parents, John and Nolene Sykora of Waco; three sons, Cody Sykora and finance Jennifer Hermansen of Waxahachie, Kyle Sykora of Waco, Kevin Sykora and his girlfriend Mallory Binnion; Sisters, Sharee Osborne and husband Don of Waco, Karen Riel and husband Mike Osborne of Waco; two grandsons, Landon and Tyler Sykora; three nephews, Donny Osborne, Jr., Sean Osborne and Bobby Riel; One niece, Megan Riel all of Waco; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Pallbearers will be Ralph Chaney, Steve Karlik, James Voder, William Mynar, Robert Bumpass, Ricky Riel and Jim Reid.
