Leldon Gauntt, 70, of Elm Mott, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will be at Pavelka (S.P.J.S.T.) Cemetery in Elk, Texas. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Saturday, November 19 at the funeral home.

Leldon was born November 22, 1945 in Waco, to Orval Davis and Lila Mae (Holland) Gauntt. He graduated from Mart High School in 1964. He was a member of the Bellmead Lions Club and of the Bellmead Chamber of Commerce. He married Shirley Mae on May 26, 1990. Leldon worked for Lone Star Gas and retired from Kitcheneering in 2007. During his retirement, Leldon could be found in his workshop with his cat, Peach, keeping him company. He and Shirley Mae enjoyed caring for their rescued pets and their trips to Whataburger for breakfast. They led a simple life filled with love and peaceful contentment. At every opportunity, Leldon was proud to discuss Jason and his many accomplishments.

Leldon is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Guantt; his son, Jason Gauntt and wife, Jennifer; his brother, J. L. Gauntt and wife, Barbara; brother in law and sister in law, Joey and Kim Pospisil; his beloved cat, Peach; and many relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Kirkpatrick, Kris Kirkpatrick, Benji Kirkpatrick, Mike Gauntt, Joey Pospisil and Jeffrey Pospisil. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Holland, James "Dude" Mann, Lynn Gauntt, Charles Butler and Mickey Henson.

The family invites everyone attending Leldon's service to dress casually.
