LEMUEL LESTER COOPER 89 of Bellmead passed away Tuesday March 17 at a Temple hospital. Graveside services will be 11 am Thursday March 19 at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday March 18 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Mr. Cooper was born January 28, 1920 in Clarksville, TX to Lemuel Jasper and Mary Alice (White) Cooper. He served in the Navy during WWII, owned and operated Sunset Motel in Lacy Lakeview for 20 years and manufactured and sold long tail blouses in 50 states and Canada. He and his wife Jean owned and operated Jean Marie Blouse Co. and dress shop in Waco for 30 years and after retirement he enjoyed giving out "smiling face sticker" as a greeter at Wal-Mart for over 10 years and enjoyed every day of it. He will be looking for you at Wal-Mart in heaven. Mr. Cooper enjoyed Old Western Movies from the 1930's--1950's and was a past charter member of East Side Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 3 brothers, his wife Jean Marie of 55 years and a son Lemuel Lester "Dickie" Cooper Jr. Survivors include his son Dewey Cooper and wife Mary of Lacy Lakeview, sister Lois Tipping of Hughes Springs, 4 grandchildren Brent Cooper, Mark Cooper and wife Stacie, Melissa Morgan and husband Donald and Lisa Barbano, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
