Lorene Estelle Miller, age 95, passed away Friday November 27, 2015 at her home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Riesel Cemetery with Reverend Linda Wimberley officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 29th at Bellmead Funeral Home.Lorene was born February 15, 1920 in Riesel, the daughter of George and Emma (Geldmeier) Smith. She was a 1937 graduate of Riesel High School. Lorene married Herbert H. "Dutch" Miller on February 26, 1938. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. During World War II, Lorene worked as a riveter at North American Aircraft Plant in Waco. When her children were in La Vega schools, she was an active room mother, PTA member and band booster. Later in life, she worked at Merle Norman Studio with her childhood friend, Joy Baer. Lorene was a beautiful, vivacious redhead who had a great sense of personal style and a knack for home decorating. At Christmas she always looked forward to lively games of 42 with family and friends. She was a member of Sparks Memorial United Methodist Church for 60 years.She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. "Dutch" Miller on July 13, 1986. She is also preceded in death by her parents; son, Glenn E. Miller in 1997; sister, Mae Finley; brothers, L. V. Smith and Barney Smith.Lorene is survived by her daughter, Janette Miller of Odessa; daughter in law, Mary Miller Rowan and husband, Don of McGregor; grandchildren, Austin Miller and wife, Melody and Erin Allen and husband, Lee; great grandchildren, Glen Estelle Miller and Lilly Mae Allen; nieces, Carole Key and Gwen Skinner, as well as other nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank Patricia Tijerina and her staff of Love and Care for their tender care during the last few years. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sparks Memorial United Methodist Church, 900 Maxfield, Waco, Texas 76705.We will miss our feisty, fun-loving redhead!
