L. A. "Rip" Sauls, 85, of Bellmead passed away Thursday, May 21, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 3 p.m Tuesday, May 26 at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Bobby Bridges officiating. The family will receive visitors at 2 pm Tuesday May 26 at the cemetery before the services. Rip was born December 27, 1923 in Fulton County, Georgia to James Lloyd and Ethel (Sanders) Sauls. He retired from the Army after 20 years, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Sauls in 2000, a son Robert Ned Sauls March 11, 1969 in Vietnam and a brother, James Felton Sauls. Survivors include his sons, Larry Sauls of Scurry, James Sauls and wife Susan of Minnesota, step sons, Ronald Moore and wife Cheryl of Arlington,and Larry Moore and wife Debi of DeSoto, 3 grandchildren, Robert Ned Sauls Jr., Tadina Sauls, Morgan Sauls, 6 step grandchildren, Kevin and Beverly Moore, Eric and Julie Moore, Stephanie Moore, Justin and Jessica Moore, James and Stephanie Moore and Lyndee Moore, 10 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and several cousins.
