Lydia Luedke, 94, of Waco passed away Monday, June 7, at a local nursing home.Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 10 at First Evangelical Church, 6347 South IH 35, Waco, TX 76706 with Rev. Richard Rust officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, June 9 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Mrs. Luedke was born January 30, 1916 in Perry, Texas to August and Ida (Schroeder) Mueller and went to school in Riesel. In later years she lived in and around Waco, never living outside of McLennan County. She worked hard all her life as a young girl on the farm and then after she married. When she lost her husband in 1959, she went to work outside of the home. She had children to raise, but never gave up on her responsibilities and she never gave up on her family. She never had the finer things in life, but that didn't bother her one bit. She was a tough little German lady right until the very end. Lydia was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Luedke, Sr., her parents, a sister Millie Hausler, brothers Walter and Rueben Miller and a grandson Adam Luedke. She is survived by 6 children, Shirley Nowicki and Paul Luedke Jr. of Lacy Lakeview, Norma Luedke and Doris House of Waco, Linda Perry of DeSoto and Ron Luedke and wife Joy of Carrollton; sister Julene Kroll of Robinson and sister-in-law Bonnie Miller of Bellmead; 11 grandchildren Joycelyn Kissinger and husband Randy, Paula Beagle and DeAnna Seale all of Lacy Lakeview; John Zanter Jr. and wife Tammy of Mart; Brian Zanter of Rockdale; Ronny Luedke and wife Danielle of Rising Star; Michael Luedke of Carrollton; Greg Luedke and wife Angela of Lewisville; Jeanna Huerta and husband Chris of Red Oak; Melisa Wright and husband Craig of Providence Village; and Chad Perry and wife Emily of Waxahachie; 4 step grandchildren Darlene House, Sherry Zanter and Randy House all of Waco and Scoville House Jr. and wife Teresa of Ohio; 26 great-grandchildren. 16 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her grandsons John Zanter Jr., Greg Luedke, Chad Perry, Brian Zanter, Ronny Luedke and Michael Luedke."It's sad to let you go Mama.
