Lydia Rose Campbell, 87, of Waco passed away Friday, July 29 at LakeShore Village Health Care Center. Services will be 10 am Monday, August 1 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Copeland officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:30 pm Sunday, July 31 at the funeral home. Lydia was born April 23, 1923 in Caldwell, TX. to John Jerry and Lydia (Hoverock) Machan. Lydia loved playing dominoes and scrabble with friends and family. She loved to cook and made fruit cakes from scratch each Christmas for her brothers in Caldwell. She loved flowers and loved to garden as long as she could. Her children and her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She loved to go to Church and when she couldn't she loved visits from her pastor. She was member of the 1st. Baptist Church of China Spring, always active in Church functions, an active member of the P.T.A., past member of the Riesel Riding Club, and During World War II, she worked at the Ft. Worth Gun Plant, also Teletype operator Elko Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Campbell , Sr. in February 2010; a sister, Lillie Prazak; brothers, Frank Machan Edward Machan and Johnny Machan. Survivors include her son, Donald E. Campbell, Jr. and wife Dessie of China Spring; daughter, Nelda Campbell, of Waco; brothers, Alton Machan, Robert Machan and Alvin C. Machan all of Caldwell, TX.; grandsons, James Roscher and wife Erin of Tulsa, Okla, Phillip Roscher and wife Sally of Waco and Matthew Roscher and wife Beth of Birmingham Ala.; granddaughters, Casey Akin and husband Joshua, of College Station, Leigh Edwards and husband Greg, of Houston, Rhonda Gullett of Bryan, Stephanie Miller and husband Jim of N.C,, Leigh Ann Rasberry and husband Lee, of N.C.; great-grandchildren. Whitney Lynn and husband, Adam of Waco, Bryan Roscher, also of Waco, Stephen and Brittany Roscher of Ark. Conner, Corbyn and Kaylyn Roscher, all of Tulsa, Okla, Amanda Edwards, of Houston, Jackson Roscher of Waco, Christian and Camryn Rasberry of N.C. and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Larry Carr, Gene Gant, Joe Miller, Josh Akin, James Roscher Phillip Roscher.
