Malcolm Stodghill Jackson, 71, of Lacy-Lakeview, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Services will be at 11 am Saturday, February 23, at the Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Linda Wimberley and Rev. Delbert Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, February 22 at the funeral home. Malcolm was born July 3, 1941 in Axtell, Texas to Arlin Roy and Willie May (Stodghill) Jackson. He attended LaVega Schools and graduated from Axtell High School. Malcolm married Betty Mueller on August 11, 1961. He worked and retired from Owens-Illinois after 34 years and then retired from Connally ISD after 13 years. Malcolm was a member of Sparks Memorial United Methodist Church, was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved the outdoors and racing. Malcolm was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Ronda Kaye Jackson on July 11, 1966. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Jackson of Lacy Lakeview; son, Mark Jackson and wife, Jackie of Conroe; daughter, Donna Leggott and husband Robert of Waco; sister, Shirley Lopez and husband Hilbert of Waco; grandchildren, Brittany Sullivan and husband, Zach, Kayla Finch and husband, Trey, Stephanie Phillips and husband, Travis, Donnie Walker and wife, Roni, Jonathan Walker and wife, Ashley and Justin Walker; special great granddaughter, Olivia Sullivan; 7 more great grandchildren and 2 on the way; niece Carla Witman; and special friends, Donald and Shirley Hennig. Pallbearers will be grandsons and son-in-law. Memorial may be made to Bluebonnet Hospice, 307 Londonderry Dr., Waco, TX 76712.
