Martha Ann Dixon, 66, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, of Elk, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8 at her residence. Services will be 11 am Saturday, February 11 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Doyle Ware officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, Feb.10 at the funeral home. Martha was born June 30, 1945 in Hope, Arkansas to Edward and Vivian (Ellis) McElyea. She married James "Pete" Dixon on October 5, 1965 and enjoyed 42 years of love, friendship and practial jokes that are still relevant today. She was a seamstress and member of Timbercrest Church of Christ. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Melvin Dixon on December 11, 2007; and sisters, Frances and Paula McElyea. Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Lee Curry of Woodway; son Ronnie A. Dixon Sr. of Elk; stepdaughter, Patricia Dixon of Waco; step son, James M. Dixon Jr. of Arlington; sister Kathy McElyea of Elk; brother, Edward Ellis McElyea of Woodway; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family would like to express a special thank you, to all the staff of Blue Bonnet Home Health Care and Hospice and everyone at the Old Circle Drug in West, Texas.
