Mary Alice was born to Mary Jane (Oldham) Jeanes and Warren D. Jeanes of Waco on August 25, 1948. She attended La Vega ISD her entire grade school career and graduated in 1966. After high school she attended 4C Business College in Waco and graduated with a degree in business. She flourished in her career as an outside sales and marketing consultant while working for several prestigious companies. She also worked in sales and marketing for the Yellow Pages and White Pages and the Community Phone Book in the latter part of her career. Ultimately she was able to retire at the age of 62 and take a well deserved break from the hectic lifestyle she had become accustomed to. Mary Alice met her husband shortly before retiring and they moved to Whitney, Texas full time after her retirement in 2000. She and Van were married in a sweet ceremony in September of 2001 and have been inseparable since then. They both enjoyed outdoor activities including fishing and camping together. They frequently traveled to the coast at Port Aransas and took their grandchildren with them most of the time. During her time in Waco Mary Alice became an active member of the Open Door Church and was baptized there with her family in attendance. Mary Alice loved to cook and was constantly trying out new and exciting recipes. Her grandchildren lit up her world and it was a passion of hers to be there for all of them as much as she could.
