Mary Louise
Colvin Denison passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016. A memorial service will
be held on Sunday, March 20, at Bellmead Funeral Home with visitation following
the service. Friends are invited to the home of Bill and Martha Agee, 10013
Townridge Dr. from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 19th to celebrate and
share memories of the life of Mary.
Mary was born July 28, 1953 in Nacogdoches,
Texas, to Virgil and Louise Colvin. She lived in Waco and attended La Vega
schools in Bellmead where her mother Louise taught, and graduated from
Richfield High in 1971. She then attended McLennan Community College and Baylor
University, earning a BBA in accounting. For most of her career, Mary worked in
public accounting and then as an auditor and rate analyst for the State of
Texas. She later received a teaching certificate and worked as a substitute
teacher to allow more flexibility and time to be with her grandchildren, who
were the joy of her life. Much as she had done with her own daughter Heather,
she loved to experiment with them on fun cooking and craft projects and
volunteer at their schools. Mary also had a lifetime love of photography and
enjoyed creative writing. At the time of
her death, she worked for Bill Agee, her brother-in-law, and was invaluable as
both a business consultant and travel buddy.
Mary was preceded
in death by her beloved husband, Cecil Denison, her parents Virgil and Louise
Colvin, and younger brother James Colvin.
She is survived
by her daughter Heather Leos Muniz and husband Joe Anthony Muniz; her three
precious grandchildren, Ariana, Dominik and Isabel; her sister and
brother-in-law, Martha and Bill Agee; and several cousins and extended family
members. She also leaves behind many close friends, whom she loved dearly for
decades.
In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to a fund for the benefit of her grandchildren

or a charity of choice.
