Mary Eva Wetterman, 81, of Waco, passed away peacefully Wednesday October 19, 2022 at a local hospital. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday October 22, 2022 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel, Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday October 21, 2002 from 6-8:00 pm at Bellmead Funeral Home. Mary Eva Wetterman was the daughter of D.J. (Sonny) and Nellie Harrell and was born May 30, 1941. Mary attended China Spring H.S. then Baylor University. She was very proud of being a Golden Bear. Mary married James (Jim) Wetterman on July 28, 1962, They were married over 60 years before her passing. She taught at La Vega H.S. for 30 years. Over the years she was involved in Little League Baseball/Softball, Viking Fest, Historic Waco Society and Earle Napier Kinard House. She loved to travel and had been to Sweden, Alaska and most of the states in the U.S. She was an avid women's basketball fan and attended the Baylor games with her sister when she became unable to attend she made sure to watch on TV. Mary was a member of Richfield Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles David Harrell and also Baby Girl Wetterman.
Survivors include her husband James (Jim) Wetterman, sister Susan (Beth) Womack and husband Fred of Waco, sons James Wetterman and his wife Dawn of Teague and Brian Wetterman of Waco, friend for 56 years Robin Evans and her husband Dale, grandson; Trey Wetterman and his partner Amber of Teague, granddaughters; Eva Wetterman and her partner Thomas of Austin, Keri Carte of Teague, Lydia and Bryn Wetterman of North Dakota, also 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Richfield Christian Church or China Spring H.S. Scholarship Funds.
