Maxine Caskey Crum, 81 of Riesel passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Thursday, October 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead. Rosary will be 7 pm Wednesday, October 30 with visitation from 6 to 8 pm at Bellmead Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bold Spring Cemetery. Maxine was born January 24, 1932 in Beaumont, Texas to Clarence and Dorothy (Lowse) Caskey. She completed Providence School of Nursing on Sept. 2, 1955, received her RN degree December 1, 1955, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Baylor University on May 23, 1958 and graduated from University of Texas with a Master Degree of Science in Nursing on Dec. 24, 1982. Maxine retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital after 3o years and went to work at Baylor Health Center for 10 years. She was a volunteer at Caritas for a number of years, delivered Meals on Wheels and was a Hospice volunteer. Maxine was a very giving and caring person. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters at St. Joseph Church Court # 1729 and was an active member of the Ladies of Charity. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Mart Crum on April 4, 1985. Survivors include her, daughter, Deborah Crum of Hewitt; sons, Chester Crum of Hallsburg and Don Crum and wife, Cindy of Mound; stepson, Thomas Mart Crum of Elm Mott; and grandchildren, Cooper, Madison, Wyatt, Harrison and Elizabeth Crum; step grandchildren, Tommy, Terry and Tammy. Pallbearers will be, Larry Moore, Leon Evans, Jim Myers, Barry Brott, Melvin Buckemper and Frank Bajer. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus Council # 7202 of Bellmead.
