Melvin Eddie Adams, 91 of Waco, passed away Friday, October 18 in Temple. Graveside services will be 1:30 pm Monday, October 21 at Waco Memorial Park. Melvin was born August 1, 1922 in Houston, Texas to the late Roy and Pearlee (Holland) Adams. He moved to Hillsboro (Woodbury) where he was raised and farmed until being drafted in the Army. CPL Adams served during WWII in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe earning EAME Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze stars, 1 Bronze arrowhead, Good Conduct Medal, Squad Leader and Sharpshooter. He was an active member of the VFW and American Legion in Waco until becoming ill. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters. Survivors include his son, Eddie Adams and wife, Pauline; daughter, Reta Reimer and husband, Dave; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 half sisters; and a half brother. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Texas Veterans Nursing Home and all the nursing staff and especially to A-Hall nurse's Donna and Robert.
